short bio Currently,
I am working towards my Ph.D. as full time research assistant at the
Pervasive Computing and User Interface Engineering group
at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
I followed my supervisor and tranferred to Essen in December 2007 from the
User Interface Engineering group at the University of Bonn.
In April 2007, I moved to Bonn from the
University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität) at the Chair for Media
Informatics (LFE Medieninformatik). At all three positions, I worked as a
member of the
research group "Embedded Interaction" headed by
Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt. My research
currently focusses in programming paradigms for ubiquitous computing
infrastrcuture, development support and usability metrics integration in
the design process of novel user interfaces.
In January 2004, I received my diploma in computer science from the
University of
Passau, Germany. Projects in the graph drawing community
(e.g. the graph toolkit Gravisto)
and the extremely nice city still strongly tie me to Passau.
During my informatics and PhD studies, I have spent some time at the University of Edinburgh,
University of Lancaster, and Nokia Research, Helsinki, Finland.
