He is researching ways to quantify and understand human emotions and cognition by combining methods from cognitive psychology and ubiquitous computing. He is interested in deploying commodity devices (e.g., smartphones) in everyday settings to enable comprehensive long-term mental state assessments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/monicaperusquia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monica Perusqu\u00eda-Hern\u00e1ndez<\/a><\/strong> is an assistant professor at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan, working in affective computing, signal processing, and interoceptive awareness enhancement in cyber-physical systems. Currently, he is a Research Scientist at Meta, focusing on health and safety in the metaverse.
